For a long time, salads have been a go-to for last-minute meals. We’ve dropped our unhealthy habits, kicking out fast food and replacing it with the goodness and wholeness of a bowl filled with greens, fruits and everything in between. But for people who are just jumping into the world of salads, some might not realize that eating a bunch of greens isn’t enough for your body, and that your body actually craves more. Luckily, a few spots in the city have created some jam-packed salads that include nearly every food group, rounding out its nutritional value and making each one a holy grail.

Item: Greek Salad

Ingredients: Feta, tomatoes, olives, greens

Price: $13

A Greek salad, in and of itself, is quite simple, but a good one is hard to beat. This one from The Smile is sure to satisfy your cravings while still remaining light. And if you’re looking for it to be a bit more filling, go ahead and add an avocado or slices of chicken to give it a little nutritional boost.

Item: Spicy Kale Caesar

Ingredients: Kale, Avocado, Almonds, Shallots, Croutons

Price: $15

I get it, $15 is a little steep for a salad, but the size totally makes up for it. The Butcher’s Daughter gave this staple a serious upgrade by adding the oh-so-loved superfood avocado and by replacing traditional lettuce with kale. While Caesar salads are typically quite basic in terms of nutrients, this salad comes with the jam-packed nutrients of avocados, kale, and almonds.

Sweetgreen is obviously a great place to turn to when looking for a huge salad to satisfy your midday hunger, but their lentil and avocado salad is one of their most rounded out dishes you can buy. Two Hands is undeniably a great place to head to if you’re looking for a quick, but healthy bite. Their ricotta toast and acai bowls have been revered for years, but the Brassicas bowl definitely takes the crown in terms of most nutritious lunch options. Packed with kale and broccolini, you’re sure to get your dose of greens while enjoying the savory flavors of the poached egg and avocado. Can you see me drooling from there?
